Kitchen Development

The construction of a new kitchen has finished, designed to enhance the efficiency of our food program by streamlining meal preparation and distribution processes.

Kitchen Facility Development

The construction of a new kitchen facility at Rejoice Education Center marks a transformational milestone for the school community. Before this development, meals were prepared in a small area on campus using only a single pot to cook food for all learners, making preparation difficult, slow, and often unsanitary.Today, the school has a dedicated kitchen structure that provides a safe, clean, and organized environment for preparing meals. The facility is equipped with proper cooking space, multiple pots and pans, and the essential materials needed to prepare food efficiently and hygienically for learners. This new kitchen has improved both the quality and consistency of meals served, ensuring that food is prepared in a healthier and more dignified environment.

Benefits of the Kitchen Facility:

  • Provides a clean and sanitary environment for preparing meals for learners.
  • Allows cooks to prepare food more efficiently with proper equipment and space.
  • Improves food safety and hygiene standards on campus.
  • Reduces challenges and delays previously caused by limited cooking resources.
  • Supports the continued growth and sustainability of the school feeding program.

How It’s Impacted the Kids:

The new kitchen has significantly improved the meal experience for learners. Food can now be prepared more quickly, safely, and in larger quantities, ensuring students receive warm and properly cooked meals. Teachers have noticed improved energy and attentiveness among students throughout the school day.The improved kitchen facility has also brought a renewed sense of pride and encouragement to the school community. Students feel cared for, knowing their well-being matters. For many learners who rely on school meals as a primary source of nutrition, the kitchen helps ensure consistent access to safe, nourishing food. This development strengthens hope and stability within the school, helping children focus on learning and building a brighter future.

Exceeding Expectations with Every Interaction

Hyline, Teacher

"This programme has become a source of hope for many learners. It has helped them develop a love for school. Before the feeding programme began, many learners used to miss school frequently. But now, the classroom is always full. I used to provide food for some learners myself, but nowadays, I’m able to save a few coins."

Ryan Ochoe, Learner

"Meat Tuesday is my favourite day! I will work hard, become an engineer, and help my parents. I no longer miss classes like I used to. Please don’t change anything — just make sure we never lack lunch, ever. God will surely bless you for this!"

Mercy Maweu Learner

"What I love about school lunch is the balanced diet and the delicious food. The portions are enough — sometimes I even take some home before Mum finishes cooking, so I have something to eat before supper is ready. Nowadays, I really look forward to hearing the lunch  break bell. If we could get fruits too, I would enjoy it even more. Thank you so much!

Pauline, Teacher

"This was one of the most thoughtful projects introduced. My classes usually take place in the afternoon, and I’ve observed that on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, learners show highlevels of concentration in my subjects. Their performance has greatly improved. Learners now enjoy learning, and parents are happier too — they no longer have to worry about lunch. Thank you, Vasion, for this impactful initiative."

Faith Kwamboka, Learner

"I love Meat Tuesday! Nowadays, I don’t go hungry — I’m always sure there will be lunch. This has really motivated me. I want to work hard in school so I can help my parents in the future. Everything is great... I just wish we could have chicken too!

Jackline, Teacher

"The feeding programme brings true happiness — it’s where our learners now draw their joy. The 12:40 p.m. bell means so much to them; everyone eagerly waits for it. Parents are also
benefiting, as they’re now able to save a few coins. Today, every parent wants their child to be  part of Rejoice. We strongly wish for a five-day feeding programme. It would make a huge  difference to the learners, the parents, the teachers, and Rejoice as a whole."
